What to Look For in a Double Travel Buggy
A compact side-byside with an extremely small footprint (for use in public transport and narrow doors). Add seats or a carrycot (with adaptors) to expand the frame to accommodate children up to 50 pounds per seat.
Budget double with front and back suspension for uneven surfaces. Large storage basket, padded handlebars, and large storage basket.

Size
Double pushchairs are generally more spacious than single ones, particularly when they are side-by-side buggies such as the Kolcraft Geo 3 or UPPAbaby. This extra width allows them to carry heavier children without straining their chassis. Other features make them stand out: large pop-out canopies that come with SPF 50 protection and peekaboo windows with swivel lock front wheels to assist in navigating tight spaces such as shopping aisles, a cup holder for one parent and a smart fold mechanism that can be operated by one hand. The 10-inch wheels aren't built for rough terrain, but they are able to handle city streets and theme park rides quite well.
These side-by-side buggies are light and come with surprisingly low prices.
Weight
The lighter the double buggy, the easier it is to move and lift. The Joie Evalite Duo, which is the lightest of our lab tests, is a great choice if weight is an issue. It's still loaded with many features, including a large pop-out canopy with SPF50 and peekaboo window as well as a quick-release folding mechanism that can be stowed flat in a matter of seconds, four-wheel suspension for rough terrain and a swivel wheel on the front that allows you to maneuver narrow aisles of supermarkets and stores. It's priced at just over $1000 is a very affordable stroller. It can also carry twins or a baby and toddler with the purchase of an additional'sidepack'.
Flexibility
A double buggy is a fantastic option for parents with twins, or even a baby and toddler. Narrow tandem buggies are great for fitting through narrow spaces, while side by side models keep your children accounted for and will help you keep an eye on them as you go to the grocery store or park. There are a variety of seat configurations so you can modify them as your child develops. Some even allow you to add a car seat or ride-on board.
The Joie Evalite duo is a great illustration. It can fit two seats or a car seat and its adaptors that are easy to use let you change from single to double in just a few seconds. double stroller comes with a spacious pop-out UPF 50+ sunshade that can be used as a canopy and adjustable leg rests, as well as peekaboo windows on both seats; a standing fold that's quick and easy to do using just one hand; and a premium suspension that makes light work of rough terrain.
double pram and pushchair -fold buggy is another alternative. Their slim frames are ideal for narrow doors and aisles, while they are able to accommodate twins or even a baby and a big kid thanks to the addition of UPPAbaby's 'PiggyBack board (which is available separately). They come with a large basket and come with all the extras you might require, such as liners and rain covers.
Tandem buggies typically have children seated side-by-side, which makes them easier to push and more robust on uneven surfaces but can be tricky to maneuver around kerbs. They have a bigger footprint than a single seater and can be too big to fit through doorways.
Comfort
This is one of the most comfortable lightweight doubles we've test. It has stadium-style seating on both seats, so your children can enjoy the view. It also comes with a large UPF 50+ canopy with a the peek-a-boo window, and an upholstered toddler seat with an RumbleSeat with built-in, adjustable foot and leg rests, as well as an integrated cup holder for a single parent. Testers love how the seats recline by pushing the levers under each seat, and also say that the straps are easy to unfasten and fasten with just one hand. It's also simple to fold, thanks to a twist mechanism on the handle that makes it as easy as could be, and stores by putting the backrest up for easy access.
With 30 different configurations (it'll accommodate twins, a baby and toddler or three kids if you add the option of a 'PiggyBack' Board) this is a fantastic option for families that are looking to expand with their child. The spacious basket and the soft suspension make it ideal for kerbs, as as for use in cities. It's also a great value. BabyGearLab recommends this to children up to the age of six.
